The joke is on me!

Madelyn and I had been talking about April Fools' Day for a week before it came. I did this purposely because I was planning a joke and I didn't want her to freak out about it. She almost always asks for chicken nuggets when we ask her what she wants for lunch or dinner. So I was prepared. I made her some April Fools' Day "chicken nuggets", banana slices covered in peanut butter and graham cracker crumbs. I put them down in front of her and she took a look at them and I thought for sure that she was going to refuse them on first sight. Then she touched them and saw that they didn't feel like chicken nuggets and got a strange look on her face. Finally she put one in her mouth and bit down into it. She got a HUGE smile on her face and proclaimed - CHICKEN NUGGETS! Of course, I replied, "Are you sure that you have chicken nuggets?" And she came back with, "Yup! Chicken nuggets!" Oh well, I guess the joke was on me! I didn't even bother saying "April Fools' Day"....

Melissa, this is hilarious! I needed it to lighten up my day. Work is super crazy! Miss you. Give Madelyn a big kiss for Aunt Hef-ni.

Yeah - our little girl is quite the funny one. I'm looking forward to Sunday. We picked up a little two-wheeler bike with training wheels for her. Madelyn picked out the "boy" one with blue and green, instead of the pink and purple one. I guess Greyson will appreciate that when it is his turn to use it!

We maybe the older ones given the responsibility to train our kids to be humans, but they always seem to be one step ahead of us..

That was a cute story.
